Born on May 6, 1962 in Kars, Turkey, Prof. Dr. Özcan began her dental education at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, graduating with her dentistry degree in 1986. She completed her doctorate and specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology between 1987 and 1991, establishing a strong foundation in both clinical practice and diagnostic imaging techniques.

Prof. Dr. Özcan began her academic career as a research assistant in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Istanbul University, later advancing to associate professor in 1995 and full professor in 2000.
