Managers Message
Dear Students, Esteemed Parents, Valued Alumni, and Respected Stakeholders,
In this century, where the transformation into an information society has accelerated and the expectations of the business world have evolved alongside technological advancements, we, as Biruni University Vocational School, aim not only to equip our students with professional knowledge but also to educate them as individuals enriched with “21st-century skills.”
In the 2025–2026 academic year, we will educate future professionals in 18 formal education programs within 8 ISCED (International Standard Classification of Education) fields at our Vocational School. We continuously strengthen our mission of training qualified intermediate-level professionals through ongoing improvement processes aligned with the dynamics of the era, guided by student-centeredness, ethical awareness, and a lifelong learning approach.
Biruni University is an internationally qualified university accredited by YÖKAK in the fields of health, education, and R&D. This strong quality infrastructure places us among Turkey’s most preferred universities, providing a distinctive advantage for our students and graduates alike.
Moreover, across Turkey, our students have ranked 1st among foundation universities for three consecutive terms in TÜBİTAK 2209-A/B projects, making a significant impact both academically and in sustainability-focused initiatives.
One of the most important pillars of this structure is our distinguished academic staff, our university-affiliated hospitals, and our highly qualified internal and external stakeholders. In line with our principles of sustainability and continuous development, we regularly update our curricula through the Target Workshops we organize each year, evaluating them together with all stakeholders in terms of relevance, employability, and program competencies. Our students’ professional practice training is carried out at the Dental Hospital, Biruni University Hospital, institutions within the Technopark, as well as leading public and private sector organizations. This diversity of institutions enables our students to experience different working environments, build professional networks, and enhance their employability after graduation.
Our innovative educational practices, which enrich our educational approach and support our students’ academic success, do not merely provide knowledge but also help transform learning into a way of life. Through BirDeHa (Biruni Course Preparation Method), our students progress at their own learning pace via online-supported active learning, systematically reinforcing their courses and developing lasting learning habits. The Bir Bilgin Ol Program transforms students from passive recipients of information into active producers of knowledge, strengthening their critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovative thinking skills. Graduates of these models stand out in the professional world as individuals who can apply theoretical knowledge in practice and continuously renew themselves.
To support the career journeys of our Vocational School students, we have established the Career Center and the Continuing Education Application and Research Center (SEM), both of which offer comprehensive services before and after graduation. Our centers provide one-on-one career counseling, CV preparation, and interview techniques training, while also organizing sector meetings and career days to build bridges with the professional world. With particular emphasis on internships and job placement, these centers actively support students through strong institutional partnerships, enabling them to engage with the sector during their education and facilitating post-graduation employment. We also support students who wish to start their own businesses through entrepreneurship training and mentoring programs. Additionally, we take pride in the high success rates achieved by students who wish to continue to undergraduate education through the guidance we provide during the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) preparation process.
We are aware that every individual has different learning needs and potentials. With this understanding, we adopt a holistic approach that supports our students not only academically but also in their social, cultural, and personal development. Our main goal is to equip young people, both in our country and around the world, with the professional knowledge and skills that will illuminate the future, and to ensure the sustainability of this vision across all planned areas.
As the Biruni University Vocational School family, our greatest strength lies in our belief in our students’ dreams and goals. We are delighted to walk this journey together with you and to witness your achievements.
In this process that will add value to your educational life, we would be honored to welcome you to our Vocational School and wish you a successful and healthy academic year.
With Love and Respect,
Asst. Prof. Dr. İlkay YILDIRIM
Director of the Vocational School
