As the Faculty of Applied Sciences, we embrace the mission of educating qualified professionals through an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented approach that responds to the evolving dynamics of our era. Within our faculty, the undergraduate programs in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, English Translation and Interpreting, and Software Development offer a comprehensive academic structure that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning. She currently teaches at Biruni University. She earned her doctorate from İstanbul 29 Mayıs University the department of Translation Studies, her M.A. degree from Syracuse University NY, Advertising and her B.A. degree from Boğaziçi University, the department of Translation and Interpreting. She is currently working on a presentation about students' perspective on translation, its theory and application.

Dr. Elif Zeynep Özer is an academic specializing in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts. She completed her PhD in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at the Social Sciences Institute of Gazi University in 2022. Faculty of Applied Sciences, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Biruni University, where she also serves as the Head of the Department. Her research interests include culinary culture, gastroarchaeology, food and culture relations, restaurant atmosphere, and gastronomy tourism. She has published numerous articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals, as well as book chapters. In addition, she actively participates in scientific projects and continues her academic activities through memberships in scholarly associations. Dr. Özer teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, including Turkish cuisine, world cuisines, gastronomy and art, and food and culture, contributing to gastronomy education through both theoretical and practical approaches.
